The Live Free for a Year Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes") is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia age 18 and older who have a home mortgage or a residential lease under his/her name at time of entry. Employees of Burlington Coat Factory (the "Sponsor"), its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, retailers, distributors, advertising and promotion agencies and any other individual or company involved in the development or execution of the Sweepstakes, and members of their immediate families (parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses) of same households, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Sweepstakes governed by U.S. law. Void where prohibited by law.
Sweepstakes begins at 4:00 PM Eastern Time ("ET") on 7/6/09 and ends at 11:59 PM (ET) on 9/8/09 ("Sweepstakes Entry Period").
There are two (2) ways to enter Sweepstakes: Method #1 (In-store entry): Enter at a participating Burlington Coat Factory location by completing the Official Entry Form in its entirety. Official Entry Forms are available at participating Burlington Coat Factory locations. Entries must be in receptacle by the close of business on 9/8/09. Method #2 (Mail-in Entry): Enter via mail: Complete Official Entry Form in its entirety and mail it to the following address or hand print your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address (optional) and mail to on a postcard only. Mail either form of mail-in entry to:: Live Free for a Year Sweepstakes, Burlington Coat Factory, 1830 Route 130 North, Burlington, NJ 08016. All mail-in entries must be postmarked between 7/6/09 and 9/8/09 and received by 9/15/09. No responsibility is assumed for entries that are illegible, lost, stolen, late, misdirected, damaged or postage due mail/entries. Mechanically produced or computer generated entries are void. All entries become property of Burlington Coat Factory ("Sponsor") and will not be returned or acknowledged. All incomplete or illegible entries will be void. Neither Ventura Associates, Inc. nor the Sponsor assumes responsibility for third parties' failure to act in accordance with Sponsor's instructions pertaining to the implementation of the Sweepstakes.
CONSUMER DISCLOSURES: No purchase necessary to enter or win. You have not yet won. Ends at 11:59 PM (ET) on 9/8/09. One Grand Prize: up to $20,000 awarded toward winner's principal & interest payments or rent payments for one year of your home mortgage loan or residential rent (ARV: up to $20,000.00). Actual prize payment will be based on winner's current monthly mortgage or rental payment due (principal & interest only) multiplied by twelve or residential rent for the 12 months following the date the prize is awarded. Or if winner no longer has a home mortgage at the time the prize is awarded, payment will be based on winner's monthly payments due (principal & interest only) up to $20,000, for the last 12 month period prior to the date the loan was paid in full. Or if the winner no longer has to pay rent for any reason whatsoever at the time the prize is awarded, payment will be based on winner's monthly residential rent payments due up to $20,000, for the last 12 month period prior to the date the winner did not have to make any more rent payments. Prize will be awarded as a lump sum cash payment in form of a check, and winner is responsible for making actual mortgage or rent payments on time. Sponsor: Burlington Coat Factory, 1830 Route 130 North, Burlington, NJ 08016. Prize is guaranteed to be awarded. Odds of winning depend on total number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Entry Period estimated at 1:900,000.
Potential winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Entry Period. Random drawing will be conducted on or about 10/15/09 by an independent judging organization whose decision is final and binding. Winner will be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and a Publicity Release ("Affidavit/Release"), within 14 days of date specified on notification, or an alternate winner will be selected. The winner will also be required to submit a copy of his/her home mortgage bill or copy of his/her residential lease as proof of eligibility. Prize will be awarded within 30 days after winner verification. If Affidavit and/or a Release or a prize notification or prize is returned as undeliverable, it will result in disqualification, and the corresponding prize may be awarded to an alternate winner. If the winner is deemed a minor in his or her state of primary residence, the prize will be awarded in the name of winner's parent or legal guardian who may be required to execute Affidavit/Release or any necessary paperwork/documents on minor's behalf. Prizes are non-assignable or transferable. Winner is responsible for all federal, state, local, sales and income taxes. Entry and acceptance of prize constitute permission to use winner's name, prize won, hometown and likeness for online posting and promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.
Entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges and the Sponsor, and release the Sponsor, its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, retailers, distributors, advertising and promotion agencies and any other individual or company involved in the development or execution of the Sweepstakes, as well as the employees, officers, directors and agents of each, from all claims and liability relating to their participation, acceptance, use, misuse of prize. Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Sweepstakes or use or redemption of the prize. The Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Sweepstakes or in the announcement of prize.
